PIXIE - SHV standard class glider
The
paraglider PIXIE is designed for beginning and slightly advanced pilots for
amateur flying and acquiring new experience. During several seasons since its
launching the PIXIE has proven its high potential to be used in motor paragliding
winning three Championships of the Czech Republic in this event.
The PIXIE paraglider is a wing of so called classical concept using standard
design elements unless applying diagonal segments when designing a paraglider.
The design of a canvas uses the concept of all profiles as supportable. The
overall number of cells is designed lower to decrease the overall canvas weight.
To increase the aerodynamic fineness of a trailing edge and attain more accurate
controlling its single boxes at the trailing edge are provided with doubled
profile segments. The comparatively deep profile at the end of a wing turns
continuously in so called „spindle“, which regulates the trailing
at the end of a wing and provides solidity of a wing tips even at the low number
of lines.
The PIXIE paraglider was designed as an easily steerable wing with wide range
of speed control and high maximum speed in the speed-system. Its easy starting,
extraordinary steering control and especially its high basic and maximum speed
are the main advantages the PIXIE is providing to leave other wings in its class
long behind. These basic qualities have been proved by the sports as well as
commercial results of this model, a paraglider which is our oldest mass-produced
paraglider. The PIXIE proves the timeless charm of easy classical design providing
sufficient flying qualities and performance as well as advantageous price of
a paraglider designed for beginning pilots or motor paragliding fans.
